This 1 Gallon Preserving Crock Starter Kit includes a 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock, 1 Gallon Crock Cover, and 1 Gallon Weight Set.
These beautiful Ohio Stoneware crocks are very useful, and make a nice addition to any stoneware collection. They are great for traditional canning and pickling uses, and this 1 Gallon Crock is a nice size for pickles and kraut. They can be used decoratively, as well... and as kitchen storage and pantry containers.
In addition to this 1 Gallon Crock Starter Kit, we also sell a 2 Gallon Crock Starter Kit.
When purchasing our crocks, covers, and weights, please keep in mind that we carry six sizes of Ohio Stoneware preserving crocks, weights, and covers. Lid size and weight size should match the crock size, (I.e., 1 gallon lid pairs with the 1 gallon crock, and the 1 gallon weight set pairs with the 1 gallon crock). Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 gallon sizes.
Each crock is fired at a high temperature for durability! Finished with Lead-Free, Food-Safe Glaze. Ready to use. Easy to clean. Will not retain the food’s flavors. Microwave safe. Oven safe. Dishwasher safe. High Quality!
Do not expose your Ohio Stoneware piece to direct flame (stovetop, grill, etc). Direct heat may cause your piece to crack and you will be sad. This is considered misuse and will not be covered under our warranty.

Sauerkraut crock
Beautifully made, I can't wait to use it. Made in the US. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the shipping seemed a little high, and one of the weights was broken. Ohio stoneware replaced it immediately.

Absolutely love it. And the price is right for the 1 gallon Starter kit.
Actually more than a gallon for head room. I do an extra step. I bought the gallon starter kit. So after the weights are in I add a 1 gallon zip lock bag with water in it for a final seal that allows gases out then the lid is put on for the final step.. have kimchi in it now. Then after this I want to try the Kerry Kraut from the Masontops recipe book.. 2 lbs of cabbage per quart jar. This 1gallon Ohio crock can Easily do 8lbs. Of Kraut at a time. Or less. Just always keep a batch going.. just like wine making. Lol

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet... but it is beautiful! Very heavy, excellent quality, very well protected for shipping. Very pleased!

Preserving crock 1 gallon kit
I received my crock a little over a week ago and I immediately made sauerkraut. It turned out great. The crock works great and is pretty sitting on my counter. I intend to order the 3 gallon with in the next couple weeks.
