The use of any kind of stomper, tamper, or device other than your hands is strongly discouraged and could cause damage to the crock.  More often than not complaints of a "y" crack after one use were caused by excessive use of a tamper. If you experience damage to your crock and a stomper, tamper, or other device was used, your crock will not be covered by our warranty.

Ohio Stoneware guarantees this product five years from the date of purchase against all defects in materials and workmanship, provided the product has been used as instructed. It does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use, or misuse of the product. To claim under the guarantee please email pictures of the product to info@ohiostoneware.com with proof of purchase or date of purchase and retailer purchased from. After review, Ohio Stoneware may request to have the item sent in for a physical review and at its discretion will determine if the product is eligible for replacement. Replacement products will be sent free of charge with prepaid postage. Ohio Stoneware, in its discretion, shall either repair or replace the product free of charge and return the product prepaid. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary state to state.

    Perfect for fermentation

    This item was shipped to me very quickly and totally intact. It was packaged extremely well. This is my second one and the main reason I have one of these is for making kraut. I highly recommend it. One note though. If you purchase the set, which comes with weights to hold the veggies under the liquid, be careful with the weights. If they hit the crock too hard it will crack the crock. Which is what happened to my last one.
