This  2 Gallon Preserving Crock Starter Kit includes a 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock, 2 Gallon Crock Cover, and 2 Gallon Weight Set. 

These beautiful Ohio Stoneware crocks are very useful, and make a nice addition to any stoneware collection. They are great for traditional canning and pickling uses, and this 1 Gallon Crock is a nice size for pickles and kraut. They can be used decoratively, as well... and as kitchen storage and pantry containers. 

In addition to this 2 Gallon Crock Starter Kit, we also sell a 1 Gallon Crock Starter Kit. 

When purchasing our crocks, covers, and weights, please keep in mind that we carry six sizes of Ohio Stoneware preserving crocks, weights, and covers. Lid size and weight size should match the crock size, (I.e., 1 gallon lid pairs with the 1 gallon crock, and the 1 gallon weight set pairs with the 1 gallon crock). Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 gallon sizes. 

Each crock is fired at a high temperature for durability! Finished with Lead-Free, Food-Safe Glaze. Ready to use. Easy to clean. Will not retain the food’s flavors. Microwave safe. Oven safe. Dishwasher safe. High Quality! 

Do not expose your Ohio Stoneware piece to direct flame (stovetop, grill, etc). Direct heat may cause your piece to crack and you will be sad. This is considered misuse and will not be covered under our warranty.

Warranty Information

Ohio Stoneware guarantees this product five years from the date of purchase against all defects in materials and workmanship, provided the product has been used as instructed. It does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use, or misuse of the product. To claim under the guarantee please email pictures of the product to info@ohiostoneware.com with proof of purchase or date of purchase and retailer purchased from. After review, Ohio Stoneware may request to have the item sent in for a physical review and at its discretion will determine if the product is eligible for replacement. Replacement products will be sent free of charge with prepaid postage. Ohio Stoneware, in its discretion, shall either repair or replace the product free of charge and return the product prepaid. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary state to state.

    2 gallon starter kit

    I purchased this to prepare pickles from cucumbers grown in our garden. I recall my Mother using a crock to soak her cucumbers in a vinegar/sugar/spice solution to make candy dill pickles. The crock was wonderfully made and the pickles are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this starter crock for newbies to the canning world of cucumbers!

    These are so beautiful. I bought them for waterglassing eggs. The quality is excellent, but I think people would be so proud to own these items. They sit on my counter and people admire them. I've got the 5 gallon crock on my wish list.

    2 Gallon crock and weights

    I had Ohio Stoneware on my "to get" list for over a year and finally pulled the trigger. My folks made pickles and kraut in crocks back in the 60s and 70s when things were well built. These crocks are on par with those old school crocks. It's just quality pottery. My crock has some one of a kind scrapes on the bottom that you only get with hand made earthenware. I put up my first batch of kraut a week ago, so stay tuned! Seriously, these are the best and as far as I know, the only real deal crocks out there, and reasonably priced, and made in USA

    The kit arrived in a timely manner and is working great with very little fuss. I hope to taste the furits of my minimal labor in a few days. I'm making a batch of pickles and this is the first time I've fermented anything. This crock kit is very easy to use, inexpensive, and will recommend it to anyone curious about preserving food. The 2 gallon size, I feel, is perfect for those starting out. Thank you for making a great and well-made product.
