Ohio Stoneware is made to be used and enjoyed for years. A few simple care steps will help protect your stoneware from thermal shock, cracking and unnecessary wear.
Use stoneware in a conventional oven up to 450°F. Always handle hot stoneware with a heat-resistant oven mitt or potholder.
Do not use stoneware over an open flame, on a stovetop, on a grill or under a broiler. Direct or concentrated heat can cause the piece to crack.
Stoneware should not be exposed to extreme temperature changes.
Do not:
Allow the stoneware to gradually come closer to room temperature before moving between hot and cold environments.
Glazed Ohio Stoneware products are listed as microwave safe. Use caution when removing them, as the entire piece may become hot.
For everyday cleaning, allow the stoneware to cool before washing.
For glazed stoneware:
When removing hot stoneware from the oven, place it on a trivet or heat-safe surface. This also helps protect countertops and tables from heat and scratches.

Because stoneware is made through a ceramic production process, slight differences in shape, color and texture are normal and part of the character of each piece.
Important: Always follow any product-specific care instructions included with your item, as care requirements may vary by product or collection.
