Description

This weight set consists of two semi-circular stones designed to fit Ohio Stoneware's 2 Gallon Preserving Crock.

This weight set also works with our 2 Gallon Water Seal Fermentation Crock , and our 2 Gallon Water Seal Fermentation CROCK BODY ONLY. 

The weights are unglazed and used for food preservation. The stones rest on top of food inside of the crock to keep food in the brine for proper fermentation.

When purchasing our crocks, covers, and weights, please keep in mind that we carry six sizes of Ohio Stoneware preserving crocks, weights, and covers. Lid size and weight size should match the crock size, (I.e., 1 gallon lid pairs with the 1 gallon crock, and the 1 gallon weight set pairs with the 1 gallon crock). Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 gallon sizes. 

The 2 Gallon Crock and 2 Gallon Crock Cover are sold separately! You can also purchase the complete 2 Gallon Crock Starter Kit, which includes the crock, cover, and weights to keep food submerged for safe, efficient pickling and fermenting.

Do not expose your Ohio Stoneware piece to direct flame (stovetop, grill, etc). Direct heat may cause your piece to crack and you will be sad. This is considered misuse and will not be covered under our warranty.

  • Measurements can vary slightly due to these items being handmade. Expect each piece to have slight variations in shape, color and texture due to the natural process of pottery making. 

Warranty Information

Ohio Stoneware guarantees this product five years from the date of purchase against all defects in materials and workmanship, provided the product has been used as instructed. It does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use, or misuse of the product. To claim under the guarantee please email pictures of the product to info@ohiostoneware.com with proof of purchase or date of purchase and retailer purchased from. After review, Ohio Stoneware may request to have the item sent in for a physical review and at its discretion will determine if the product is eligible for replacement. Replacement products will be sent free of charge with prepaid postage. Ohio Stoneware, in its discretion, shall either repair or replace the product free of charge and return the product prepaid. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary state to state.

    These weights are FANTASTIC! I'm new to fermenting and didn't know I needed weights when I ordered my 2 gal crock. I can fit my vegetable tamper into my crock without disturbing the weights. I would highly recommend these weights 120%
