Description

This is a cover for Ohio Stoneware's 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock. 

Our crock lids are made of hand-finished glazed stoneware that prevents open-air contamination and keeps mold and aerobic bacteria from tainting your fermenting food. It protects food during the fermentation process, as well as protecting any food stored inside the crock in the kitchen or pantry. It is made of the same durable material as the crocks. The lip on the lid holds it securely in place. 

When purchasing our crocks, covers, and weights, please keep in mind that we carry six sizes of Ohio Stoneware preserving crocks, weights, and covers. Lid size and weight size should match the crock size, (I.e., 1 gallon lid pairs with the 1 gallon crock, and the 1 gallon weight set pairs with the 1 gallon crock). Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 gallon sizes. 

The 5 Gallon Crock and 5 Gallon Weight Set are sold separately! 

Each crock cover is fired at a high temperature for durability! They are Lead-Free and Food-Safe. Ready to use. Easy to clean. Will not retain the food’s flavors. Microwave safe. Oven safe. Dishwasher safe. High Quality!

  • Measurements can vary slightly due to these items being handmade. Expect each piece to have slight variations in shape, color and texture due to the natural process of pottery making. 

Warranty Information

Ohio Stoneware guarantees this product five years from the date of purchase against all defects in materials and workmanship, provided the product has been used as instructed. It does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use, or misuse of the product. To claim under the guarantee please email pictures of the product to info@ohiostoneware.com with proof of purchase or date of purchase and retailer purchased from. After review, Ohio Stoneware may request to have the item sent in for a physical review and at its discretion will determine if the product is eligible for replacement. Replacement products will be sent free of charge with prepaid postage. Ohio Stoneware, in its discretion, shall either repair or replace the product free of charge and return the product prepaid. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary state to state.

    I had an old family crock. I ordered a cover and two stones, I threw in four gallons of corn and pickling salt. I tasted the corn this am. Delicious if you like pickled corn.

    I bought this as a top for the 5 gallon crock-- on the whole a good product and it will serve it's purpose. Unfortunately, the rim of the crock is not level and the lid is also very slightly bowed, so I don't have the flush seal I was hoping for. I'm going to have to put a section of rug in between the crock and lid to make sure no bugs get in. Nice and heavy and a good finish though.
