Sour Cold Pickles

Grandma Howell’s Recipe

INGREDIENTS
1 gallon apple cider vinegar (do not weaken)
1 cup salt
1 cup Coleman’s dry mustard
1 tsp. saccharin (stevia or sugar substitute)
Cucumbers

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wipe cucumbers off with a dry cloth. Do not use water because it will cause the cucumber to rot in the vinegar mixture.
2. Slit big cucumbers and place in a crock.
3. Mix salt, mustard and saccharin with a little vinegar to dissolve, then add to the rest of the vinegar.
4. Pour over cucumbers and add weights on top, then cover with a lid.
5. Wait three days and then taste one! If it’s not sour enough, let it sit longer.
