Preserving Crock ~ 2 Gallon Starter Kit [Boxed]

I purchased this crock because my 1 gallon crock is too small to make all the sauerkraut I want. It is double the size of my 1 gallon crock and it is just right for me

Used for 8-day pickles, and it was perfect. Weights fit well, lid meant no fiddling with tying on a cloth. Recommend!!!

I would recommend it for: ease of use, looks good sitting around, works really well, well made.

I do love the crock. When it arrived I was excited. I already have my first pickles working. Being that this is my first crock love it. But the lid is warped, which when I called was told that the lids sometimes do that. That they're not for sealing just covering. Which is fine it's just not very asteticlly pleasing to the eye. Other than that great quality

We already had a 3 gallon crock, but when we do sauerkraut in fall would like to do more. Since we are older the 5 gallon would be too heavy for us. This is a beautiful crock! It was packaged well and has all the bells and whistles. Our 3 gallon crock does not have lid or weights. Can't wait to use. Judy King

I love this crock/lid/weight kit. Within 24 hours, I had started fermenting corn. Next up, cabbage! The crock is spacious, I thought the 2 gallon size might be too small. It’s perfect. Good quality, excellent price when compared to other similar products.

Product is sturdy and well made. Good size for preserving all sorts of veggies. Now that I have it, I feel like maybe I should have gotten a larger size or maybe gotten two so that I could preserve two things at once.

I purchased this to prepare pickles from cucumbers grown in our garden. I recall my Mother using a crock to soak her cucumbers in a vinegar/sugar/spice solution to make candy dill pickles.
The crock was wonderfully made and the pickles are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this starter crock for newbies to the canning world of cucumbers!

These are so beautiful. I bought them for waterglassing eggs. The quality is excellent, but I think people would be so proud to own these items. They sit on my counter and people admire them. I've got the 5 gallon crock on my wish list.

I had Ohio Stoneware on my "to get" list for over a year and finally pulled the trigger. My folks made pickles and kraut in crocks back in the 60s and 70s when things were well built. These crocks are on par with those old school crocks. It's just quality pottery. My crock has some one of a kind scrapes on the bottom that you only get with hand made earthenware. I put up my first batch of kraut a week ago, so stay tuned! Seriously, these are the best and as far as I know, the only real deal crocks out there, and reasonably priced, and made in USA

The kit arrived in a timely manner and is working great with very little fuss. I hope to taste the furits of my minimal labor in a few days. I'm making a batch of pickles and this is the first time I've fermented anything. This crock kit is very easy to use, inexpensive, and will recommend it to anyone curious about preserving food. This product exceeded my expectations. Crock was finished beautifully and the lid and weights were perfect. We are making pickles now. Some reviews reported crocks broken in transit. My shipment was packed so securely with expandable foam that It would be very unlikely any damage could occur. Overall most impressed and pleased.

I ordered this starter kit because I have never had a crock that had weights specifically made for the size crock. The care and workmanship which goes into these crocks is very apparent. The weights are easy to use and it is nice to have a lid instead of using a towel and rubber band. The packaging was exceptional and I would not hesitate to order from this company again.

I saw the Ohio Stoneware crocks first on Amazon a while ago. I've always kept my eye on these. It was between the German crocks or these from Ohio Stoneware. After reading the reviews on Amazon for these, I discovered that there were a lot of complaints for crocks arriving broken. Not what I wanted, so I went in search of the actual site for Ohio Stoneware. Here I am writing a review. The crock arrived in perfect shape. Packing was very well thought out. Delivery was also QUICK!!! The crock is larger than I imagined--BUT boy does it look good on my countertop in my farmhouse kitchen. I LOVE IT! Awesome piece. Will be back for another.

The crock, weights, and lid arrived in a timely fashion. I was sort of surprised by this as my order was supposedly a "pre-order" , of which I was expecting to wait for a few months to receive. But I got it in about two weeks, so thank you Ohio Stoneware.

Not only was the crock and all accessories delivered quickly, they came in perfect order. No chips, cracks, or other issues.

At the moment the crock has approximately twelve pounds of shredded cabbage that is slowly fermenting into sauerkraut, and could probably safely handle another three pounds worth.
